How to reprogram your subconscious mind

Introduction
The mind consists of two (2) parts: the conscious mind and the subconscious mind.

1.1 The Conscious mind
The conscious mind uses our 5 senses to experience the physical world during our waking hours and daily activities. It forms a small aspect of our overall consciousness and awareness. It is estimated that the conscious mind controls only 5% of our lives.
1.2 The Subconscious mind
The subconscious mind lies below our conscious awareness. It controls 95% of our lives. The subconscious mind stores all of our actions, thoughts, and experiences on a daily basis, even though it remains largely concealed from our conscious awareness. You may look at it as the software that runs our lives. It plays a significant role in shaping our thoughts and behaviors when we are in the conscious state. Through different tools and techniques discussed hereinbelow, we can reprogram our subconscious mind to manifest a desired outcome or state of being.

How to reprogram your subconscious mind
2.1 Identify your limiting beliefs
The first step is to identify your limiting beliefs around your subject of interest, be it money, love, relationships, health etc. The best way to do this is through journaling. In order to identify your limiting beliefs, it is important to go back to your childhood. How did your parents, guardians, or the people around you speak of or perceive your subject of interest? Was it positive or negative? What beliefs did the Society or the community around you hold regarding your issue?
Our environment dictates our thoughts and belief systems. Write down all the relevant questions regarding your subject of interest and the corresponding responses. This is how you make the unconscious conscious. From this point, you will be able to identify whatever it is that you need to address in order to re-program your subconscious mind.
2.2 Observe your thoughts
What are your dominant thoughts regarding your subject of interest? is there any resistance, lack, doubt, worry, or anxiety?
Make it your daily routine to observe your thoughts, or in other words, to catch your thoughts, as most of these may be unconscious. The important thing is to simply observe your thoughts with no judgment whatsoever. Remember to extend yourself the love and grace that you seek and deserve throughout this experience.
2.3 Rewire your thinking patterns
You reprogram your subconscious mind by rewiring your thinking patterns and creating new neural pathways in your brain. If you notice that you have limiting beliefs, negative thoughts and resistance towards a certain subject, you should aim to rewire your brain to think positively about it. There are certain ways this can be achieved:
2.3.1 Affirmations.

Carefully write, speak, record or listen to affirmations that speak to your desired goal or outcome. The best way is to frame affirmations in a positive manner.
For example, instead of affirming "that you are not sick" affirm that "you are healthy."
Instead of affirming that "you are not in poverty", affirm that "you are abundant."
Your subconscious mind is literal. As such, words with a negative connotation such as "poverty", "sickness" and "weak" among many others are taken as the absolute truth, notwithstanding the prefixes used such as "not" "no" etc.
You should aim to repeat your affirmations as many times as possible, every day, for a period of at least 21 days. Studies have shown that it takes at least 21days to reprogram our minds and to create new neural pathways in our brains. 2.3.2 Meditation.
There are many ways through which meditation can be practiced.

As humans, we are constantly processing information. Studies have shown that the subconscious mind processes 11 million pieces of information per second. I mean, how crazy is that?
Meditation, in and of itself, is a form of self-love and self-care. When we meditate, our brain waves slow down, and our subconscious minds are more receptive to being reprogrammed in this state.
Carefully imagine or embody the state of having achieved your desired outcome, hold that feeling for as long as possible and breath through it. The more times you meditate on your dreams and desires, the more likely you are to achieve them. You are also likely to achieve results faster if you combine affirmations, meditation, and visualization (as discussed below). To learn more about meditation, click here.
2.3.3 Visualization.
The best time to visualize is in the morning immediately after you wake up or at night right before you go to bed. This is because your brain is in the alpha state, which means that your brain waves are slower and therefore easily programmable.
You visualize by seeing in your mind, or in your third eye, your desire as having manifested. Immerse yourself in the feeling of having achieved what you desire. What does it look like? How does it make you feel? Hold this feeling for as long as you can and allow yourself to mentally live it.
Be consistent with your visualizations if you want to achieve results faster.
2.3.4 Subliminal
Subliminal messages work by delivering positive affirmations or suggestions to the subconscious mind in a subtle and hidden manner. If interested, you may surf the internet for subliminal audios. However, please ensure that you source subliminal materials from a trusted source. This is because subliminal messages are meant to bypass your conscious mind. This will prevent you from programming your mind with unnecessary or even malicious messages.

In summary, think positive thoughts, feel good feelings and speak positively about yourself to optimally reprogram your subconscious mind and manifest desired experiences.
Remember that consistency is key.
